Second Chance Pets

Why adopt from a shelter?

The animals that find themselves
at a shelter are no different
than any other animal; they're
just down on their luck.

Most of our animals are with us
because their owners couldn't
care for them any more.
Some came to us as strays but
were never claimed by their owners.

The majority of our pets are
great candidates for a new home.

We observe their behavior and
assess their health status.
We note if the pet is housebroken,
how well it gets along with other
animals, people and children.

If someone has surrendered a pet,
we ask them to fill out a
questionnaire about the pet's
background to help the new owner
understand their new friend.

Adult Pets Are Wonderful!

People tend to pass by the cages
that have adult pets thinking that
an adult might come with serious baggage.

Nothing could be further from the truth!

An adult pet is usually housebroken,
doesn't teethe anymore
and is done with all the shenanigans
that accompany a young animal.

An adult is more mellow and actually
seems grateful for the chance at a new home.

With the advances in medical care,
cats and dogs live to advanced age.

Even if a pet is in their "twilight"
years, what greater reward could you reap
than by adopting a senior pet
to share his last days together?

Adult pets are grand and should be seriously considered for adoption!
