Surrendering An Animal

There are many reasons a person
cannot keep an animal.
Perhaps the pet's owner has died.
Perhaps a person is moving to a place
that won't allow pets.
There are cases when a person can no longer
take care of a pet because of financial
or personal hardship.

For whatever reason, be assured that
our Humane Society will welcome
the animal and try extremely hard
to place it in a new home.

We do not pass judgement on an owner,
because we feel an animal has a better
chance at a new home while they're in our care.

We serve these areas:
Port Jervis
Town of Deerpark
Lumberland
Highland
Mt. Hope
Greenville
and
Otisville.

If you live in our service area, there is no set fee to
surrender an animal but we do hope you will make a
dontation to help with your pet's care while he's with us.

If you live outside our service area
the fee to surrender a dog is $30.
For one cat, it's $15. For more than one
cat/kittens, the maximum fee is $30 total.

Please understand that your fee/donation helps
us to give care and support to all of the animals
that come through our doors throughout the year.

PLEASE...
never just abandon your animal.
Dogs, cats and other animals
cannot fend for themselves.

Give them a chance at a good life...
bring them to a shelter.
