Tristan
Tristan had every strike against him...his age, his deteriorated physical condition including the inability to walk, his breed and his size. Even if he had the will to live and his body hadn't completely given out on him, it would cost a tremendous amount of money for treatment & rehab and we would need somewhere for him to go while he recovered. We reached out to East Coast Gentle Giants and without hesitation they said they would take him! Now all we had to do was get Tristan to Virgina Beach. While Debbie worked to get enough weight on Tristan so he could travel, we started reaching out to fellow rescue volunteers and quickly found him a ride. Jodi, who had never been to our shelter, drove from her home in Clifton, NJ to Port Jervis to pick up Tristan and drive him all the way to Washington, DC just to turn around and drive back home again. Tristan went on to make a full recovery being adopted by his foster parents and helping out at rescue events showing off the true nature of a gentle giant. Tristan crossed the rainbow bridge on Sept

Bogart & Kenya
Bogart & Kenya were older siblings that had never been apart. One had a cleft palate that was corrected with surgery. After spending close to a year at the shelter they were adopted together!
Happy Hannah
Hannah came to us with a huge indent on the right side of her skull. The vet determined she had no feeling on the right side of her body causing her balance to be off, making walking difficult. Mastiffs to Mutts Rescue answered accepted our request to take this extremely underweight English Mastiff into their rescue so she could receive the medical attention she so desperately needed while recovering in the comfort of a foster home. Hannah's freedom ride included a ride in a private plane thanks to Pilots n Paws and a police escort to the neurologist. According to Mastiff to Mutts' website, Hannah has been adopted!
Oscar
Oscar arrived with a harness imbeded under his front leg. He went through 7 surgeries to repair the various layers of skin before being adopted into a loving home!
